FootballScoop’s John Brice reported on Sunday that the terms of the contract could be in the range of six years and $9 million per year. 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz and Tom Loy also reported that Fisch was already telling individuals within the program that he was going to accept the Washington job as early as 2 p.m. PT.

Fisch has been a coach since 1997 as he has worked his way up in the rankings in college and the pros. His first coordinator job was with the Minnesota Golden Gophers where he was the team’s offensive coordinator and quarterback coach in 2008.

He would also be offensive coordinator for the Miami Hurricanes (2011-2012), Jacksonville Jaguars (2013-2014), and UCLA (2017). It was with the Bruins that he got a taste of being a head coach taking over as the interim head coach for the last two games of the 2017 season as he went 1-1 losing in the Cactus Bowl.

Fisch’s Head Coaching Career Begins At Arizona

Fisch would land his first head coaching job in 2021 with the Arizona Wildcats. He recorded a losing seasons in his two seasons going 1-11 in 2021 and 5-7 in 2022 before turning things around this past year.

Last season saw Arizona far exceed expectations in their final season in the Pac-12. The team finished with a 10-3 record overall as the Wildcats defeated the Oklahoma Sooners 38-24 in the Alamo Bowl last month.

Fisch finishes his time with the Wildcats with a 16-21 overall record while going 11-16 in Pac-12 play.

From the moment the head coaching job became open for the Washington Huskies, Jedd Fisch was their top target. Fisch has some familiarity with the area as he was the quarterback coach for the Seattle Seahawks in 2010.

With the recent run-on changes to head coaches, Arizona now looks for a new head man. Fisch will also have to get to work to recruit talent from the transfer portal to bring in his players.
