Charley Hull has been playing some excellent golf at the 2026 HSBC Women’s World Championship. The tournament is currently ongoing at the Tanjong Course, with a total prize pool of $3 million. The event is undoubtedly one of the largest on the LPGA Tour, and after her second round, Hull is tied for 11th place on the leaderboard with a total score of 5 under par. Interestingly, she climbed a lot of the leaderboard during the second round, where she recorded a 67.
Hull is a strong contender to win the entire event in Singapore, but she recently revealed how she nearly missed the 2026 HSBC Women’s World Championship. In an interview with Golf Channel’s Tom Abbott, the golfer stated that she had planned to go to Singapore on the Saturday before the event’s week, but her plans changed after she was admitted to the hospital. Hull never revealed the cause for her revelation; she did state that she is currently feeling much better.
The 29-year-old golfer described how she arrived in Singapore on Tuesday and managed to participate in the tournament. She also said that, while she should not have played in the competition, doing so would have forced her to withdraw from the game for quite some time after winning the PIF Saudi International earlier this month. According to Golf Monthly, she said,
“I probably shouldn’t have come here, to be honest. But I really wanted to play because I would have had four or five weeks off after I’d won, if I didn’t play this week, so I kind of wanted to just come out and play anyway.”
Aside from that, Charley Hull has a significant birthday coming up next month, when she will enter a new decade of her life.
Charley Hull states that birthdays do not excite her at all

Charley Hull discussed a variety of topics during a press conference on February 25th, before the start of the HSBC Women’s World Championship. She was asked about her plans for her birthday, and she responded that it is not something that bothers her at all. Hull mentioned that she might have a barbecue because her house is being renovated.
The three-time LPGA Tour winner stated,
“I don’t really celebrate birthdays. It doesn’t really bother me, to be fair. It’s just another day, really, as I see it. Probably just have more — just have my family and friends over to my house for a barbecue or something. Mainly because I’m having my house renovated. So I just might as well have a few around, and have it for my 30th, as well.”
Interestingly, Charley Hull will also miss the Blue Bay LPGA Championship in China and the Fortinet Founders Cup in California. She will subsequently compete in the LPGA’s Ford Championship in late March.
