On the Swedish Golf Tour, Hellgren won the Black Mountain Invitational in 2014, which he went on to defend the following year. He also won the 2020 PGA Championship Bråviken Open and, most recently, clinched the title at the 2025 Saudi Open on the Asian Tour.
Bjorn Hellgren Shares His Excitement to Play on LIV Golf
Bjorn Hellgren had an impressive time playing at the LIV Golf Promotions, which helped him secure a spot in the Saudi league for the upcoming season. In the post-round press conference of the event on Sunday, he opened up about his performance and also shared his excitement about playing in the upcoming LIV Golf season.
“I can’t believe it right now,” Hellgren said. “It’s hard to comprehend. I’m very fortunate to be able to play with those guys sometimes on the International Series. But I’m probably going to be very nervous when we’re standing there in Riyadh on the first event. It’s awesome.
“It’s so cool. I think it shows to all the guys that were in my position or are in my position that you’re only a few weeks away from changing your life. I won a couple of weeks ago in Saudi, and that got me on to this thing. It’s crazy,” he added.
In addition to Bjorn Hellgren, Anthony Kim, who was relegated from LIV Golf last year, has also secured his spot in the league. He settled in third place in the LIV Golf Promotions event. Richard T. Lee won the event.
