Tommy Fleetwood is the reigning FedEx Champion and ranks third in the Official World Golf Rankings. Thus, he always has a lot of eyes on him at whatever tournament he takes part in, and oddly, the golfer was recently seen wearing tournament clothing rather than his typical Nike gear. He has been under contract with Nike for nearly ten years, with some sources estimating that his contract was worth $100 million (not confirmed by Nike).
Wearing the tournament clothes might have been a major breach of the Nike contract, which is why Tommy Fleetwood was questioned about it at the 2026 Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Fleetwood noted that his contract with Nike has expired, and he is now a free agent in terms of golf apparel. He added that he prefers to compete in the tournament wearing the event’s attire rather than a particular brand.
According to Golf Week, Fleetwood stated,
“It just turned out like we sort of didn’t end up in a place where I’m wearing Nike stuff this year. Who knows what’s going to happen in the future? This is cool. I feel like I’m a big golf fan. I really like golf stuff, so it’s quite nice to be wearing like Pebble Beach clothing. I mean, my kids would absolutely love this stuff, so I feel pretty lucky to have it on.”
Fleetwood also discussed his prospective future in apparel contracts, claiming that there are many logos all over the world that he wants to enter the golf courses. The golfer also claimed that his clothing collection will grow significantly. He later added:
“I mean, there’s some amazing logos around the world, and I also think they’re just like memorable pieces, right, when you come to a special place. My collection’s got a bit bigger, that’s for sure.”
The World No. 3 also made his PGA Tour debut for the 2026 season at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, and his opening round was decent.
How did Tommy Fleetwood perform in the first round of the 2026 Pebble Beach Pro-Am?

Tommy Fleetwood is one of the fan favourites to win the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, and his opening round has put him in contention for the tournament. The golfer finished his first round at 5 under par and is tied for 19th place. He is currently 5 shots behind Ryo Hisatsune, who leads the tournament with a score of 10 under par.
Talking more about his round, Fleetwood went for the back nine first, starting with two consecutive birdies on holes 10 and 11. Following this strong start, he took a step back on Hole 12, shooting a bogey, but later in the nine holes, he recorded three straight birdies on Hole 16, 17, and 18. In comparison, his front nine holes were a touch less of a roller coaster, with two birdies on holes one and four, followed by a bogey on hole 5.
Tommy Fleetwood will play the second round paired up with amateur golfer Greg Johnson, and with them, the pair of Robert MacIntyre and Heidi Ueberroth will be in the tee group. They will play on Pebble Beach Golf Links, starting with the front nine holes. This tee group will be 8th to begin their round on the front nine holes at 1:03 PM Local Time.
