Michael Kim has spoken about LIV Golf multiple times, but he recently lambasted the Saudi-backed league for not allowing their golfers to compete in other circuits. All of this began after Golf Fan Analyst, No Laying Up, posted a three-minute explanation video about the current scenario between Jon Rahm and the DP World Tour. The video highlighted that the two have not been on the same page because Rahm wants to play on his own terms.

Interestingly, No Laying Up linked the scenario to the contract Jon Rahm signed with LIV Golf, alleging that the Saudi-backed league also does not allow golfers to skip tournaments. According to the LIV contract, golfers are not permitted to skip any tournament in order to compete on another circuit. In the comments area of this X post, Michael Kim mentioned a similar 2025 incident that happened with European Veteran golfer Richard Bland.

The 53-year-old English golfer secured a huge victory at the 2024 US Seniors Open, one of the Champions Circuit’s major tournaments. When the 2025 edition of the tournament arrived, it coincided with the 2025 LIV Golf Dallas, and in order to honor his contract with the circuit, Bland chose to withdraw his name from the US Seniors Open to compete in the Saudi-backed league.

Michael Kim’s comment about this read,

“LIV didn’t even let Richard Bland defend his Senior open title lol.”

Interestingly, apart from this jab at LIV Golf, Michael Kim recently also took a shot at the PGA Tour while announcing his giveaway.

In recent weeks, there has been a lot of anticipation about the Players Championship, but it has not been due to a good call. The PGA Tour has positioned the tournament as a potential fifth major on the circuit, and this has made fans, analysts, and even golfers divided. Interestingly, Michael Kim recently took a jab at the tour about this issue while promoting the contest he is doing after reaching 250K followers on X.

Kim explained how he will give away Players Championship tickets, but instead of simply writing the tournament name, he added a capitalized major and a laughing emoji in front of it. His X post stated,

“250k followers! As thanks, I’m going to giveaway tickets to the MAJOR 😂 the Players Championship! plus some signed @range_finance hats and some of my personal @Titleist gear. Must be a follower. Comment, like, retweet to enter.”

Michael Kim is now competing in the 2026 Arnold Palmer Invitational, and after the first round, things do not seem well for him. He is tied for 60th place with a total score of 3 over par, which indicates that in order to play over the weekend, he must rise at least 10-15 spots on the leaderboard after the second round.
