The LPGA Tour celebrated its diamond anniversary last year. The circuit was founded in 1950, and thus 2025 marked the end of a successful seven-and-a-half-decade run. To celebrate such a massive achievement, the tour organized a massive special tournament, the 75th Anniversary Pro-Am, which took place from January 12 to 15 at the famed Pebble Beach Golf Course. The event was not just a celebratory tournament, but also one of the largest fundraisers for the LPGA Foundation.
Recently, reporter Josh Carpenter discussed the event, stating that the 75th Anniversary Pro-Am was a huge success for the LPGA, raising a record-breaking $4.1 million. This statistic has been reported as the circuit’s most successful fundraiser, and it is also one of the reasons why this event is considered to be the largest fundraising campaign in LPGA Foundation history.
Carpenter’s report regarding the tournament read,
“The @LPGA ‘s 75th anniversary pro-am at Pebble Beach this past week raised $4.1MM for the LPGA Foundation, a record amount for the tour.”
The money raised from this event is expected to be used by the LPGA in its objective to expand golf to more women. Following this tournament, programs such as LPGA X USGA Girls Golf will receive additional funding, and improved training facilities, mentorships, scholarships, and other opportunities will be made available to more girls.
As of now, the tour is also on a big mission called the “One Million MORE Girls” initiative, which aims to get one million more girls to play golf by 2030. Following the success of the 75th anniversary Pro-Am tournament, it is expected that a significant amount of money will be invested in this campaign as well.
LPGA major champion describes 75th anniversary Pro-Am event as a “dream”

The 75th anniversary Pro-Am event featured many well-known stars, including Amy Alcott, Pat Bradley, Juli Inkster, Lydia Ko, Nancy Lopez, Nelly Korda, Michelle Wie West, and Rose Zhang. During the first interview session, Angela Stanford, winner of the 2018 Evian Championship, discussed how this event is one of the methods for golfers to pay tribute to their pioneers.
Stanford also claimed that events like these are a dream for her since they remind her of when she was a young kid hoping to make it big in the golf industry, and now she is the one encouraging others. According to The First Call, she said,
“Participating in the LPGA’s 75th Anniversary Pro-Am at Pebble Beach Resorts®seems like the perfect way to pay homage to the pioneers who paved the way for us. As a young girl, I could only dream of moments like these. Now, I am excited to inspire the young girls to chase their dreams on courses like this and to shape the future of our game.”
According to some reports, out of the $4.1 million LPGA raised in this event, at least $2.5 million comes from sold-out playing berths and donations.
