Jon Rahm has made a perfect start to his 2026 season on the LIV circuit. He was almost perfect in the first two 2026 tournaments of the Saudi-backed league, which were hosted in Riyadh and Adelaide. Rahm remained consistent in both events, finishing solo second on both leaderboards. While he is currently preparing for his next tournament, which will be held in Hong Kong, the golfer was recently spotted playing the game with one of the biggest sports stars of this generation.
On February 26, the Spanish golfer shared an Instagram post in which he is seen standing close to NBA legend LeBron James. While the Los Angeles Lakers have a big match against the Phoenix Suns coming up, their star player has been seen spending some time on the golf course. Rahm highlighted on Instagram how the two played the game at the Silverleaf Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.
In the caption of this post, Rahm used the emoji of a crown nodding to the King James. The caption read,
“👑”
Jon Rahm even promoted the Instagram post by reposting it on his IG story. Talking more of it, here’s a look at it as well,

From now on, Rahm’s next LIV competition will be LIV Golf Hong Kong, which will be held at Hong Kong Golf Club with a total prize pool of $20 million. The event will begin in the first week of March. Talking back about Rahm and LeBron James, it’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time the two have made news together. After all, recently, the two were even compared by a big golf analyst.
Golf analyst discusses what similarities exist between Jon Rahm and LeBron James

According to the latest statistics, Jon Rahm is the best-performing LIV golfer of all time, finishing in the top five in 60% and the top ten in 86.7% of his total tournaments. Rick Gehman discussed this in an article, arguing that Rahm is one of the best golfers ever, and that his appearance on LIV Golf is similar to when LeBron James competed in his college game, and ESPN aired it for the fans.
Gehman noted in his piece that James was at his level and competed against boys who had little chance of beating them. Similarly, Rahm is someone who is always in his league at LIV Golf, and no one is even close to him on the circuit. This section of the article stated,
“Do you remember when LeBron James was in high school, and ESPN would air St. Vincent – St. Mary games? I do. The thing that always stuck out to me was that LeBron was a man, and he was playing against little boys. They didn’t stand a chance. He was bigger, faster, stronger, smarter — it was a joke. That … is Jon Rahm playing on LIV. These guys don’t stand a chance. He’s the best player in the history of the league, and it’s not even remotely close.”
Apart from this, Rahm is currently also involved in a major controversy with the DP World Tour, in which he has refused to accept a settlement offer.
