The WM Phoenix Open is all set to kick off this week, from February 5 at the TPC Scottsdale. The tournament will have a field size of 123 golfers, including prominent stars like Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth, and many more. While a competitive field for the tournament has been decided, recent reports indicate that many players have been injured prior to the tournament.

According to an X post by Golf Injury Report, six top golfers are now injured for various causes. Michael Kim, who had to withdraw from the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open due to a back ailment, is still not totally recovered and is injured before the WM Phoenix Open, too. Along with him, Hideki Matusyama, who has a rough past with back injuries, is currently experiencing some problems with it again.

Talking in detail about the golfers who are on the list, the X post read,

For the time being, no reports suggest that these golfers will be replaced by others. Aside from them, fans will be keeping a special watch on another big golfer in this tournament, Scottie Scheffler, who is in red-hot form. At the 2026 American Express, the World No. 1 managed to secure his first win of this season, and that too by a comfortable margin. He is in excellent form, and there has been speculation over whether the golfer can go two for two; after all, he is also at the top of the power rankings.

The PGA Tour has already released the 2026 WM Phoenix Open Power Rankings, and it comes as no surprise that Scottie Scheffler leads the pack. The golfer won his 20th PGA Tour event, the 2026 American Express, and completed with a $100 million total from his PGA Tour wins. Interestingly, Scheffler has won at the TPC Scottsdale twice in his career, giving him a serious contender on the course.

Cameron Young is placed second in this Power Rankings, trailing only Scheffler. He, too, has been in high demand every week, and he has a great record at the last two WM Phoenix Opens. In 2024, he finished tied for eighth place, and in 2025, he finished tied for fourth. Perhaps this is the year he can finally go all in and win this year’s WM Phoenix Open.

Aside from that, Si Woo Kim is in third place since he has been in terrific form over the last few weeks. Kim fared well last week during the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open, finishing tied for second place with a total score of 16 under par. Talking more about the power rankings, here’s a short look at it:
