Matt Fitzpatrick won the Valspar Championship 2026 on Sunday. The 31-year-old sealed his third PGA Tour victory by recording a 3-under 68 in the final round to finish with a 11-under 273 at Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Golf and Spa Resort in Palm Harbor. The Englishman, who finished runner-up at The Players Championship, beat David Lipsky for a one-shot victory.

With the win, Fitzpatrick bagged the $1.63 million winner’s paycheck from the tournament-record prize fund $9.1 million purse. It is pertinent to note that the prize pool was limited due to the event’s non-signature nature. Notably, the check added to the golfer’s career earnings that amounted to $31,232,516 after his $2.22 million win from The Players.

The second-place finisher’s payout had made him the 58th player to surpass the $30 million mark on the PGA Tour. Apart from the win, the Ryder Cupper also pocketed 500 FedExCup points. The 10-time European Tour winner climbed inside the top 10 of the Official World Golf Ranking for the first time in two years.

Owing to the win and his runner-up finish at The Players, Fitzpatrick is now fully exempt as a winner on the PGA Tour through 2029. He is also exempt on all majors – US Open through 2032, The Open Championship through this year and both the Masters and PGA Championship through 2027. Meanwhile, Lipsky, who lost the win by one-shot on Sunday, returned with $991,900 in the bank and moved to No. 33 in the FedEx Cup.

The winning golfer’s compatriot Jordan Smith managed a solo-third place finish. He bagged a $627,900 paycheck. Interestingly, Sungjae Im began the final round with a three-shot lead. The South Korean failed to capitalize the lead and closed with a 74 and tied for fourth. He shared the position with the likes of Xander Schauffele and Marco Penge. The trio won $382,958 each. Bud Cauley finished last on the 74-man leaderboard and exited with $17,927 added to his bank.
