The DP World Tour stop in Bahrain wrapped up this week at the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship, where players competed for a total prize purse of $2.75 million at Royal Golf Club in Bahrain.

The tournament ran from January 29 to February 1 and ended in dramatic fashion with Freddy Schott claiming his first DP World Tour title after a playoff win over Calum Hill and Patrick Reed. The victory earned Schott a paycheck of over $450,000 with Hill and Reed taking home $302,500 each.

The field included several well-known names with major champions like Pádraig Harrington and Sergio Garcia leading the lineup. A number of DP World Tour winners and rising players were also in action making it a competitive week from start to finish.

There was also a strong international feel with several golfers who have played in the Olympic Games competing in Bahrain. Adding to the occasion three local Bahraini amateurs were given the chance to tee it up in front of home fans rounding out the tournament field.
