PGA Tour pro Akshay Bhatia is slated to tee off at the TGL game next week amid reports that the American rejected a lucrative offer from LIV Golf. He will be playing for Jupiter Links Golf Club in their first game of the TGL Season 2.

Bhatia will be playing on a team with Max Homa and Kevin Kisner against the New York Golf Club, featuring Rickie Fowler, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Cameron Young. The matchup is scheduled for Tuesday, January 13.

Notably, Tiger Woods has been focused on recovery after he underwent surgery last year. While he will be missing the TGL event, Bhatia has joined the field.

TGL Season 2 started last month, with the season-opening game between the Atlanta Drive GC and New York Golf Club. Next, Boston Common GC played against Los Angeles Golf Club, followed by the third game between The Bay Golf Club and Atlanta Drive GC, who have won both of their matchups this season.

Akshay Bhatia had an impressive time playing on the PGA Tour in the last few years. He won the Barracuda Championship in 2023 and then the 2024 Valero Texas Open and is now looking forward to his outing in the TGL.

Earlier this week, Golf Channel’s Rex Hoggard reported that Bhatia was offered a deal to join the Saudi league, but he turned it down.

While Bhatia refused to play on the LIV Golf, five-time major winner Brooks Koepka has exited from LIV Golf and has reportedly applied for PGA Tour membership. Meanwhile, as reported by The Times, Thomas Detry and Elvis Smylie are joining LIV Golf for the upcoming season.

PGA Tour pro Akshay Bhatia marries his fiancée, Presleigh, in the offseason

While enjoying some time away from the field, Akshay Bhatia tied the knot with his fiancée, Presleigh, last month. He shared a heartfelt video with his wife in a joint post on Instagram, sharing the good news. He penned down a sweet two-word message for her and shared the post on Justin Bieber’s “Better Man” song.

“My wife,” He wrote with a red heart emoji.

Meanwhile, on the field, Bhatia started the 2025 PGA Tour season at The Sentry, where he played four rounds of 71, 72, 67, and 66 and settled in a T32 position. However, this year, the tournament was canceled, and the new PGA Tour season is scheduled to start at the Sony Open in Hawaii.

Akshay Bhatia’s last outing was at the Hero World Challenge. He played in the event hosted by Tiger Woods in the Bahamas before getting married and settled in 14th place after carding rounds of 66, 68, 74, and 71.

In the last season on the PGA Tour, he finished solo ninth at the Mexico Open, T3 at The Players Championship, and T6 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
