The Ole Miss Rebels have been dominant throughout the 2026 recruitment cycle. The program is looking to make a fresh start under Pete Golding and has landed commitments from some incredible players.
The Rebels recently secured a commitment from Antwan Jackson, a 6-foot-6, 253-pound four-star EDGE. For weeks, it seemed like Jackson was headed to Alabama to play for the Crimson Tide. He also had the option to go to Missouri.
Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett posted the news of Jackson committing to Ole Miss on X, and the post garnered mixed responses from college football fans. Understandably, Ole Miss fans are happy about it, whereas fans of other programs have nothing good to say.
“If you work really really hard maybe you can become a tiger in a few years. Until then enjoy these L’s coming,” a fan wrote.
“It’s rare to see someone choose another team over Alabama. I’m serious, I read these daily and I don’t see many,” a fan wrote.
“That’s now 14 blue chip prospects for Ole Miss. The highest mark of this decade for the Rebels. Top 15 high school class so far, and could easily be top 10 by end of cycle,” a fan wrote.
“Pete Golding ruined sabans last 3 years at bama and also is now ruining any chance we have of being a elite program,” a fan wrote.
“Rebel fans, you simply can’t teach 6’6 250. Randall Joyner is simply like that. This class is going to be special,” a fan wrote.
“It seems like Ole miss recruiting has been much better since Lane train left,” a fan wrote.
Some fans noted that LSU was also trying to get Jackson, which would make it a bigger win for the Ole Miss Rebels. Regardless, this class is shaping up really well for the Rebels.
Antwan Jackson Announced His Commitment to Ole Miss
Antwan Jackson took to X to share a picture of himself in the Ole Miss jersey, holding a football, and announced his commitment. Jackson stated that a lot of thought and discussion went into finalizing Ole Miss as his destination.
“After a lot of prayer, conversations with my family, and careful thought, I am blessed to announce that I am officially committing to The University of Mississippi to continue my athletic and academic career for the next 3 to 5 years!!” he wrote.
Ole Miss has made a remarkable turnaround over the last few months. When Lane Kiffin abruptly left the program in the middle of the 2025 season, many thought that the team might suffer for a while without him.
However, the Rebels have managed not only to stay afloat post Kiffin-era, but they are now thriving in the current recruitment cycle.
