The Texas Longhorns took the Michigan Wolverines to the woodshed on Saturday, and prideful alums took notice. Former Texas legend Bijan Robinson was one such alumnus who wasn’t afraid to throw in a dig at his team’s opponent in the process.
Bijan Robinson Touts Texas Team, Rips Michigan Wolverines Defense
The Week 1 clash between Texas and Michigan has more closely resembled a blowout than a true top-10 matchup. Former Texas and current Atlanta Falcons running back Robinson was one onlooker who took notice.
Robinson posted on X (formerly Twitter) the following during the third quarter of Texas’ contest with Michigan, which Texas leads 31-6 late in the final stanza.
We’re witnessing a team that is the future of college football🤘🏽 them Ⓜ️ boys done ran outta gas before it started.😁🤷🏽♂️

Robinson’s excitement for the Longhorns is palpable, as Texas’ outing against the defending national champions went about as well as one could’ve hoped. Quinn Ewers was efficient, the offense was firing on all cylinders, and the defense was fast-flowing and turnover-happy.
On the flip side, Robinson’s dismay for the Michigan squad headed by Sherrone Moore also resonated with other viewers. The Wolverines were never truly in the game against Texas, and early miscues by the offense put the defense in bad situations drive after drive.
Ultimately, an inept offense and an overworked defense culminated in a complete collapse. The Longhorns will revel in the victory, while the Wolverines will be forced to go back to the drawing board. Robinson himself isn’t wasting any time.
Robinson knows a thing or two about success at Texas. He was a highly touted recruit and a standout runner with the Longhorns before the Atlanta Falcons ultimately took him eighth overall in the 2023 NFL Draft.
In three seasons with the Longhorns, Robinson totaled 539 carries for 3,410 yards and 33 touchdowns; he also caught 60 passes for 805 yards and eight additional scores. His best season came in 2022 when he amassed 1,580 yards and 18 TDs.
