    FIU Football Unique Jersey Schedule

The game against Sam Houston in Week 9 is set to produce yet another viral moment for the program. A season ago, FIU unveiled their ‘Miami Vice’ uniforms and this year, they’ve taken it up a notch.

The 2024 Vice Night will celebrate the program’s ties to the community in Miami and pays homage to the legendary show of the same name. FIU’s Vice U helmet decal brings back the font from the show as well as the color scheme.

The Panther’s uniform design is said to look ‘like a speedboat,’ another homage to the show, and its commonplace on speedboats in and around the waterways of Miami. The palm tree logo is said to instill thoughts of the beauty of the city of Miami, while the Miami Art Deco style FIU block lettering does the same.

FIU's Vice Night pays homage to the show of the same name, and the city of Miami itself.

FIU’s field will be painted in the same color scheme as well as the same ‘Miami Art Deco style font’ for the FIU and VICE U lettering.

How Pitbull Named the FIU Football Stadium

It’s a first-ever for college athletics, but the field at stadium on campus at FIU is officially known as Pitbull Stadium, as announced by a groundbreaking partnership with the school and recording artist Pitbull.

“This is a historic day for FIU Athletics to uniquely partner with a world-renowned artist and amazing person who truly values relationships and his community,” FIU Director of Athletics Scott Carr said in the announcement.

“Armando’s financial support is program-changing, but him providing a microphone to amplify FIU will be even more beneficial to growing our brand. I couldn’t be more excited about our partnership, as this will take us to another level. We can now officially say: ‘Paws Up, Dale!'”

The agreement was much more than naming rights to the stadium as Pitbull’s deal with the program is locked in stone here, paying $6 million over a five-year period and has options to renew and re-negotiate the deal every five years there after.

    • New title, referred to as the “Official Entrepreneur of FIU Athletics.”
    • Use of the stadium for 10 days annually without having to pay a base rental fee.
    • Perez’s vodka brand, Voli 305, will be the preferred brand distributed during stadium events.
    • The ability for other artists affiliated with Perez’s record label to perform at FIU events.
    • Two designated suites with a capacity of 40 and 20 VIP parking passes for each game.

Aside from the price tag, Pitbull also agreed to help promote the program:

    • Creating a Florida International anthem that would be played at all FIU athletic events.
    • Twelve social media posts annually during the first term of the agreement via Perez’s social media accounts.
    • Appearing at one athletics fundraising event per year during the agreement’s term, for a three-hour time block.

    FIU’s Latest Bowl Projection

As of right now, the FIU Panthers would need some luck to get to bowl eligibility. They are not featured in the CFN Bowl Projections, given they have five losses already, and two more would push them out of bowl eligibility.
