For months now, the 2025 NFL Draft class has faced heavy criticism from scouts, media analysts, and fans alike. It has been described as lackluster and devoid of star talent and, at times, even called flat-out bad. But with Round 1 on April 24 fast approaching, a fascinating narrative shift is underway.
As NFL analysts, scouts, and executives dig deeper into the prospects, Senior NFL Insider Adam Schefter is among the latest to argue that this class is better than previously predicted. But fans remain skeptical and believe this draft class is subpar. Some have even called Schefter a liar.

Fans Debate Adam Schefter’s Bold 2025 Draft Depth Take
In a recent interview on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Schefter had high praise for the 2025 NFL draft class, lauding its depth and potential.
.@AdamSchefter laid out how much depth is in the 2025 NFL draft 👀

“The strength of this draft, according to the people who have really dug into it—middle rounds three, four, five, lot of good depth and talent there,” Schefter explained. “And I think the feeling is that the player you get at No. 10 in this draft is similar to the player that you get at 35. So there’s a group in there where there’s not a huge separation.”

However, the majority of the fans didn’t buy into his optimism and voiced their disagreements in the comments.
“There’s literally like five true R1 players in this draft—the rest are all second-rounders in a normal year, and there’s a ton of them,” one commenter said.
Another added, “It’s because this draft is not very good!!”
Someone else chimed in, “Why is he lying on television? This draft is weak as hell.”
Among all position groups, the quarterback class has been the most questioned. The lack of buzz surrounding the 2025 draft cycle reflects the limited number of standout QBs.
Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward is widely considered the top passer, with Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders close behind. Yet fans argue that neither would have ranked as the top passer in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Though this class appears not to have the high-end, it can’t miss prospects seen as future stars – like Caleb Williams and Marvin Harrison Jr. last year. So, could this draft class surprise us by revealing hidden stars, or will it truly fall short of expectations?
