The Kansas City Chiefs’ season opener in São Paulo took a worrying turn just minutes after kickoff. On the third offensive play, Xavier Worthy collided hard with Travis Kelce while both cut across the middle. Worthy went down awkwardly, grabbing his shoulder, and was soon ruled out for the rest of the game.
Initial reports suggest Worthy may have suffered a dislocated shoulder. The collision also sparked a wave of fan reaction online, with some pointing fingers at Kelce. Even though the collision wasn’t intentional, Taylor Swift’s fiancé caught a lot of flak online.

While some fans focused on trashing Kelce for the collision, others wished a speedy recovery for Worthy.

Ian Rapoport reported that it’s still unclear how much time it’ll take for Worthy to come back. As of now, the Chiefs are waiting for his full medical report to be able to decide on a timeline for the same. Rapoport said that his sources told him he will likely return this season.
