Deion Sanders recently came across a bizarre comment tying his last year’s bladder cancer surgery and past blood clot problems to the Covid vaccine.
Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders joined his father, Coach Prime, to attend his sister Shelomi Sanders’ graduation at Alabama A&M University this week. They stole the spotlight in Huntsville, Alabama, for the university’s Spring Commencement ceremony at the AAMU Event Center.
An X user shared a video where Shedeur and Deion met each other. Shedeur can be seen showing his carry bag filled with shoes and football. Notably, Deion was wearing a mask.
That got one fan to think and make a bizarre interpretation. He highlighted Coach Prime’s recent medical history and joined conspiracy theorists who believe that the COVID-19 vaccine from five to six years ago might have damaged the Colorado Buffaloes head coach.
“Coach Prime gets the Covid vaccine, almost dies from blood clots and cancer, and is now wearing a mask in 2026. Bro is locked into the medical plantation,” a fan wrote.
The accusation had no merit whatsoever but Deion Sanders still chose to reply. He trolled the user in his own classic way, writing back:
“A lie don’t care who tells it. You were chosen! Congratulations 🙏🏾”\
Deion denied the accusations blatantly through this reply.
Last year, during a press conference in Boulder, Deion revealed he had undergone surgery to remove his bladder after doctors discovered a high-risk form of non-muscle invasive bladder cancer.
Sanders kept the diagnosis and surgery to himself, even not telling his two NFL-bound sons, Shilo and Shedeur who were signed by NFL teams last year. Deion also had to amputate his toes because of blood clot problems in the past.
Deion Sanders Updates the Favoritism Ranking of Children
Deion Sanders has the habit of ranking his children according to whom he feels proud and excited about. After Shelomi Sanders received her Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Sports Management, she became the No. 1 child in Deion’s books.
Shelomi became the second child of Deion to graduate from a Historically Black College and University. The first one was Shilo, who graduated from Jackson State in 2023.
After attending her graduation ceremony, Sanders wrote the following message on social media:
“My Babygirl Got her Degree! Wow! I’m proud of all my children but @shelomisanders is my FAVORITE one.”
Deion Sanders shares five children. He shares Deion Sanders Jr. and Deiondra Sanders with his first ex-wife, Carolyne Chambers, and shares Shilo, Shedeur and Shelomi with his second ex-wife, Pilar Sanders.
