David Braun’s Salary and Contract in 2024

Braun’s contract at Northwestern is currently unknown, but his value to the program under challenging circumstances has been rewarded with a full-time contract, having previously served as an interim.

As a private school, Northwestern has no obligation to release any salary or contract information and has been extremely tight-lipped over the deal Braun signed.

Rivals report, “The contract reportedly runs for the next four seasons at an affordable figure.” However, Matt Fortuna from The Inside Zone reports the deal to be for the next five seasons.

Braun was originally hired by the Wildcats in January 2023 as defensive coordinator. However, he was made interim head coach after Pat Fitzgerald was fired over misconduct allegations.

After an impressive 5-5 start to his career and seemingly with fan support, the interim title was lifted in November 2023, with Braun inking a contract to become the full-time head coach.

Speaking after signing the contract to become the official head coach of Northwestern football, Braun said, “I am truly honored for the opportunity to continue leading Northwestern’s football program.”

“Moving forward, my mission is to build on this positive momentum, aiming to create one of the best experiences in college football for our student-athletes. “

Northwestern President Michael Schill was also thrilled to get the deal done.“We asked Dave to support our student-athletes this season, and he has done an exceptional job,” Schill said.

“Under his guidance, Northwestern’s football team has exceeded expectations on the field and excelled in the classroom. The turnaround he has led under very difficult circumstances is nothing short of phenomenal.

“I couldn’t be happier that he will permanently lead our student-athletes on the gridiron.”

At just 38 years old, Braun has been able to turn the Northwestern program around in an incredibly short period. Under Fitzgerald, the Wildcats had a record of 1-11 in 2022.

However, under Braun’s leadership, Northwestern finished with an 8-5 record in 2023 and ended the season by lifting the Las Vegas Bowl with a 14-7 victory over the Utah Utes.

Braun’s Net Worth

Braun’s net worth is currently unknown due to the undisclosed nature of his contract at Northwestern.

With no information available and conflicting contract length reports, there is no speculation over Braun’s career earnings.

Before moving to Northwestern, Braun was the defensive coordinator with North Dakota State, and his coaching career began in 2008.
