It’s not a matter of whether the transfer portal is here to stay or not, it’s how your favorite college football program is going to use the portal that is the real question. For the Colorado Buffaloes, they’ve made it clear that they will be active in not just finding talent through the portal but roster construction itself.
With that kind of approach, it’s no wonder the Buffs have had their fair share of departures through the portal just as they’ve had arrivals since Deion Sanders landed in Boulder.
Colorado Players In the Transfer Portal
For all they’ve been able to do through the portal in the Coach Prime era, Colorado has also lost their fair share of athletes. Given their roster overhaul from a season ago and their continued approach toward roster construction in the portal all throughout the year, it’s no surprise if you don’t know where the Buffaloes’ roster stands after spring practice.

Here are all the Colorado players who have entered the portal either since the Spring Transfer Portal window opened or even before.
Demouy Kennedy, LB

Kennedy entered the portal after a string of Buffaloes’ players but perhaps became the biggest shock since Cormani McClain. His impact was limited to just a handful of games in 2023, limiting himself to just 13 total tackles.
The former Alabama Crimson Tide dual-threat is one of the most highly-coveted athletes in the portal this spring.
Alton McCaskill IV, RB

The grass wasn’t necessarily greener for Alton McCaskill IV in Boulder, and he hit the portal for the second time in two years. Entering the Colorado roster while rehabbing an injury, McCaskill has a ton of talent and should become a vital component of his next backfield in the near future.
Devee Harris, LB

Like Kennedy, Devee Harris was limited to minor production but brought an incredibly athletic and well-traveled frame into the portal. With stops at Minnesota, Old Dominion, and now Boulder, Harris has to be looking for some continuity at this point of his career.
Chamon Metayer, TE

A new arrival and, subsequently, someone whose time in Boulder was the shortest of the athletes listed here, Chamon Metayer had just landed with the Buffs last December. Transferring in from Cincinnati, Metayer didn’t last but a spring semester with Colorado but his 2023 season with the Bearcats (23 catches, 258 yards, 5 TD) should make him a coveted weapon for an offense very soon.
Vito Tisdale, S

The former Kentucky star has had a unique college career. After standing out during his first two seasons with the Wildcats, 2022 and 2023 saw him log three snaps across both universities.
Khairi Manns, EDGE

Khairi Manns transferred in after a dominant season with Maine in 2022. His time at Colorado saw him log just a single sack, but his presence off the edge was felt multiple times. He’ll be a coveted high-ceiling player for a defense needing a speed rusher in the portal this spring.
Cormani McClain, CB

A former top-ranked recruit, Cormani McClain shocked the college football landscape when he entered the portal. With just two pass breakups to his credit, McClain started to gain his footing down the season’s stretch and had a highly productive month of November in Boulder. Undoubtedly, McClain is one of the top players to hit the portal this window and the entire 2023-24 transfer portal cycle.
Jacob Page, WR

A former three-star recruit, Jacob Page hits the portal after logging no receptions in 2023 with Colorado. Page had multiple offers from teams in the Midwest and in the SEC, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him land at a comfortable landing spot back near his home in Tennessee.
Tar’Varish Dawson, WR

Tar’Varish Dawson entered the Colorado lineup after spot duty with Auburn in 2022. He hauled in 14 receptions for 124 yards and a score in his lone season with the Buffaloes. Dawson takes with him a potential high-level skill set from the slot to his next journey.

Another high-profile JUCO commitment at the time, Isaiah Jatta was the No. 1 ranked JUCO player from the state of California in the class of 2023. Jatta hailed from Snow College and chose the Buffs over a large list of power programs that offered him.
Savion Washington, OT

Arguably one of the top tackle prospects to hit the transfer portal over the past few years, Savion Washington started nine games a season ago for Colorado. Though the offensive line was a large issue for Colorado, Washington had his positive moments in 2023. He enters the portal with two years of eligibility left, having played two of three seasons at Kent State prior.
Jaden Milliner-Jones, S

Jaden Milliner-Jones made a big splash when he entered the transfer portal following the spring practice circuit. Milliner-Jones made three pass breakups a season ago and lived up to the billing of such a highly-ranked prospect from the state of Texas. The DeSoto prospect has track and field in his background, and that showed up on tape in 2023.
Chazz Wallace, DL

Chazz Wallace transferred in from Old Dominion and is back on the market less than one year into his Colorado tenure. Wallace recorded 11 total tackles and a handful of pressures last season, including a dominant few reps against Washington State. The Maryland native brings versatility off the defensive line for his next team.
Myles Slusher, S

Myles Slusher hit the portal before the spring window opened as a graduate transfer. Slusher previously transferred in from Arkansas, playing four games for the Buffaloes in 2023. He’ll forever be known for a tackle against TCU, but brings a well-rounded game and plenty of experience at the highest level after starting for three seasons with the Razorbacks.
