2024 SEC Rankings: Assessing the Southeastern Conference’s Top Players At Every Position

    Taking a look at the entire conference gives a great glimpse of who the best of the best will be within the SEC Rankings for the 2024 season.

    As the slogan for the SEC goes, it just means more down south. In 2024, that means more than ever as the conference welcomes in perennial contender and college football blue bloods Oklahoma and Texas.

    Ahead of the 2024 season, CFN is ranking every conference’s top players at every position, including the SEC. Here’s how they stack up.

    Listed below are the complete positional rankings in the SEC for the 2024 season. With the transfer portal closed and the 2024 NFL Draft behind us, the next major event on the football calendar is the start of the college football season.

    Get to know the top players in the SEC as we progress through the summer in great detail below.

    2024 SEC QB Rankings

    1) Jalen Milroe, Alabama
    2) Carson Beck, Georgia
    3) Quinn Ewers, Texas

    The faces of the conference reside in the backfield, at the quarterback position and at the helm of the favorites to win the conference in 2024. Jalen Milroe leads Alabama in a new era of Crimson Tide football under new head coach Kalen DeBoer while Carson Beck looks to get Georgia back into the SEC Championship winner’s circle for the third time in four seasons.

    For Quinn Ewers, his return to Austin headlines the top returning players for the Texas Longhorns and ushers them into the first-ever SEC season at the helm.

    2024 SEC RB Rankings

    1) Trevor Etienne, Georgia
    2) Jarquez Hunter, Auburn
    3) Raheim Sanders, South Carolina

    A couple of familiar faces in different places headline the SEC RB Rankings in 2024. Trevor Etienne has traded in his Orange and Blue for Red and Black, transferring from Florida to Georgia while Raheim Sanders will don a new shade of red, this time with the South Carolina Gamecocks.

    Then there’s Jarquez Hunter, who should be the focal point of the Auburn backfield in 2024.

    1) Luther Burden III, Missouri
    2) Tre Harris, Ole Miss
    3) Antwane Wells Jr., Ole Miss

    Arguably one of the best players in all of college football, Luther Burden III could be considered the face of the SEC in a non-QB world. Burden was the top-ranked recruit for a reason at his position, and he showcased why in 2023. Back for more in 2024, Burden has his sights set on maintaining the top of the SEC WR Rankings and a potential top-10 overall NFL Draft selection.

    Antwane Wells Jr. transfers to Ole Miss after missing the bulk of the 2023 season at South Carolina, pairing with Tre Harris to give Jaxson Dart arguably the best 1-2 punch at WR in the entire country.

    1) Rivaldo Fairweather, Auburn
    2) Caden Prieskorn/Dae’Quan Wright, Ole Miss
    3) Amari Niblack, Texas

    No Brock Bowers? No problem. This trio, or quartet, at the top is ready to stand tall against any coverage defenders in their path, notably the duo at Ole Miss in Caden Prieskorn and Dae’Quan Wright.

    The perennial favorite to be a top-five pick across the board, LSU tackle Will Campbell is one of the most dominant players in all of college football. While the LSU offense may look a bit different in 2024, Campbell’s prowess at tackle should remain constant and dominant.

    Kelvin Banks Jr. entered Texas with lofty expectations and he’s done nothing but live up to, or even exceed, those expectations throughout his career.

    1) Tate Ratledge, Georgia
    2) Jake Slaughter, Florida
    3) Parker Brailsford, Alabama

    Georgia’s Tate Ratledge ushers in the 2024 season back on the interior once again, where he can solidify himself as not just a good player but perhaps an all-time great within the Georgia program.

    Jake Slaughter anchors the interior of a Florida offensive line that is mean and nasty under head coach Billy Napier, whereas Parker Brailsford follows DeBoer from Seattle to Tuscaloosa.

    1) James Pearce Jr., Tennessee

    A massive presence on the interior, Deone Walker returns to Lexington to anchor the Kentucky defense in 2024. Walker has a rare skill set that allows him to rush the passer incredibly well and stuff the run all the same.

    Tonka Hemingway is at Walker’s heels when it comes to rankings, but it’s almost like splitting hairs in that regard.

    Back at linebacker for another season, Harold Perkins Jr.’s all-around skill set will be on display once again in Baton Rouge. Perkins can rush the passer with the best of them and steadily improved his off-ball linebacker skills in 2023.

    Debo Williams and D’Eryk Jackson would fall second fiddle to only Perkins on the national level.
