2024 Big 12 CB Rankings: Travis Hunter, Ra’Mello Dotson Take the Lead

Some of the Big 12's best corners are leaving the conference, making room for some underclassmen to tak over the 2024 Big 12 CB Rankings.

Some of the Big 12’s best corners are off to the NFL, like Iowa State corner T.J. Tampa being drafted in the fourth round by the Baltimore Ravens. Others are transferring out, like Houston’s Isaiah Hamilton, who recently entered the transfer portal after spring practice.

Even with those departures, the outside boundary in the conference has a plethora of playmaking returners throughout the 2024 Big 12 CB Rankings.

    2024 Big 12 CB Rankings

    10) Zemaiah Vaughn, Utah Utes

With 25 career starts, Zemaiah Vaughn is one of the elder statesmen on the 2024 Big 12 CB Rankings, entering his fifth season with the Utah Utes. Vaughn earned a CFN 2023 Honorable Mention All-Pac-12 selection after 54 tackles, six pass defenses, and a pick last season.

    9) Myles Purchase, Iowa State Cyclones

A two-year starter for the Cyclones, Myles Purchase has yet to record an interception in his three-year career, but he finished second in the conference and fourth in the nation with 15 pass breakups last year. Also finishing with the third-most tackles on the team with 54, Purchase earned a CFN 2023 Third-Team All-Big 12 nod.

    8) Jacob Parish, Kansas State Wildcats

Jacob Parish didn’t make any starts as a true freshman in 2022, appearing in all 14 games with 14 tackles, but that changed last year.

Parish started every game for the Wildcats in 2023, emerging as one of the conference’s premier ball-hawks with four interceptions and 13 pass defenses, earning a 2023 Honorable Mention All-Big 12 selection.

    7) Caden Jenkins, Baylor Bears

As a true freshman, Caden Jenkins only started seven games last season, but he made the most of it with three picks and two fumble recoveries, including an 82-yard scoop-and-score against UCF that earned him Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week.

    6) Treydan Stukes, Arizona Wildcats

A team captain for the Wildcats last year as a fourth-year junior, Treydan Stukes notched nine pass defenses and an interception, with 55 tackles to earn CFN 2023 Honorable Mention All-Pac-12. 3) Tacario Davis, Arizona Wildcats

Not many CFN 2023 First-Team All-Pac-12 selections finish outside the top two of the position rankings, but that speaks to the conference’s CB depth. Tacario Davis starts the season as the third-best CB in the conference after leading the Pac-12 with 16 pass defenses, registering 24 tackles and an interception last fall.

    2) Ra’Mello Dotson, Kansas Jayhawks
