Chris Klieman Salary, Contract, Net Worth, and More

Chris Klieman took over for a legendary coach at Kansas State, and we look at his salary, contract, and net worth while with the Wildcats.

Chris Klieman took over for two legendary coaches at two separate institutions, and all he’s done is keep the ship on course. From his time at North Dakota State to his current situation with the Kansas State Wildcats, Klieman has been the model of consistency.

What does consistency get you? Paid. Klieman’s performance with the Wildcats earned him a healthy contract extension recently, and we look at his salary and contract for the 2024 season.

Chris Klieman Salary and Contract in 2024

In May of 2023, Klieman signed a new eight-year deal worth $44 million, an average of $5.5 million annual salary. The deal runs through 2030. Klieman led the Wildcats to a 30-20 record up until that point.

Klieman originally agreed to a six-year contract with Kansas State in 2019. His initial base salary was $2.3 million, with a $200,000 increase each year. After Klieman led the Wildcats to the Sugar Bowl in 2022, the administration rewarded his success with a new contract.

Before landing in Manhattan, Klieman had established himself at North Dakota State. Taking over for Craig Bohl at NDSU was always going to be challenging, but the Bison didn’t skip a beat under his watch. He took over from the 2014 season, leading the Bison to a 69-6 record, winning four out of five national championships.

Klieman also finished 36-4 against Missouri Valley Conference foes during his five years, with 39 of his 69 total wins coming against ranked opponents. He also finished 2-0 against FBS competition. So it’s safe to say he earned his chance to be a head coach at the FBS level, and he’s proven he belongs there.

    Klieman’s Net Worth

One of the interesting parts of Klieman’s contract was the inclusion of his business in the salary. In 2023, his base salary was $4.5 million. Of that amount, $3.3 million went to him, but the remaining $1.2 million went to Klieman Football Camps. The camps range from youth camps to coaching clinics.
