Michigan CB Will Johnson has an opportunity to regain his NFL Draft prospects with team visits and workouts following an injury that kept him out of Michigan’s Pro Day. According to College Football Network’s rankings of this year’s draft prospects, Johnson is the sixth-best player and the best cornerback in this year’s class.

Why Did Will Johnson Miss His Pro Day?
With the cornerback from Michigan failing to make it in full fitness in time for his college’s pro day, he is set to work out privately with multiple NFL teams in order to try and regain the standing he had as one of the top prospects in the draft.
Johnson, who had to have knee surgery in 2023, has a long history of injuries that have derailed his career, including a toe turf injury in October that kept him out for the rest of Michigan’s season.
According to Fox Sports’ NFL Draft Analyst Rob Rang, Will Johnson’s long-standing history of injuries makes him one of the riskiest prospects in this year’s class, which could affect his prospects.
“The first thing Johnson needs to prove to the NFL is that he is healthy,” The Draft expert wrote, explaining why NFL Teams will have to be careful when scouting around Johnson.
College Sports Network’s Mock Draft currently projects the Michigan cornerback as the ninth pick of the New Orelans Saints.
Johnson Set For Shot At Redemption
According to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, Will Johnson is set to privately work out for several NFL teams on Monday in Ann Arbor now that he’s fully healed from an injury he suffered in February.
“It was kind of just (something that happened when I) got back from my toe (injury) in early January, When you’re doing the training we’re doing like this, it’s pretty intense, so just trying to run as fast as I can and hammy wasn’t ready for that yet.” Johnson explained, when questioned on the injury that kept him out of Michigan’s Pro Day.

This workout will come with an opportunity for the Cornerback to prove his injuries haven’t affected him long term ahead of the Draft.
Johnson is also set to meet with the Las Vegas Raiders, who hold the fifth pick in this year’s NFL Draft and currently require a cornerback following the trade of Nate Hobbs.
