Head coach Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers were expected to be ACC championship contenders this season. With quarterback Cade Klubnik at the helm, many were picking the Tigers as a dark horse team to reach the national championship game at the end of the year. However, the start of the season has been a disappointment.
The Tigers lost two of their first three games before playing Syracuse in Week 4. Near the end of the second quarter, the Tigers were having a poor performance. Syracuse held a 24-7 lead, and Swinney started to express his frustration on the sideline.

Many fans showed their frustration while reacting to the game and calling for Dabo Swinney to be fired.
“Fire Dabo,” one fan wrote.
“I’m not joking, Clemson should fire Dabo tomorrow,” one fan commented.
“Fire Dabo right now lol,” one fan added.
Fans continued to react on X.
“Dabo about to fire his whole staff,” one fan wrote.
“Clemson fans might rush the field and fire Dabo themselves,” one fan commented.
“Maybe Dabo wasn’t joking when he said “he is just now learning to coach” Fran Brown is embarrassing Clemson,” one fan added.

Nick Saban Gives Advice to Dabo Swinney
Dabo Swinney has been the head coach of the Clemson Tigers since 2009, leading them to two national championships in 2016 and 2018. As a result, he is expected to receive some leeway from management that other coaches might not get. However, he will need to improve and save the Tigers’ season if he wants to keep his job long term.
On Saturday morning, former Alabama head coach Nick Saban gave some advice to Dabo Swinney. He spoke about how Swinney has set a standard at Clemson, similar to what he did in Alabama. However, he followed up with a statement about how he needs to continue to improve.
“But then you’ve got to keep climbing that mountain because people expect you to live up to it,” Nick Saban said. “Dabo needs to look at what he needs to do in his program to make his program continually be successful.”
If the Tigers go on to lose the game against Syracuse, the odds of Clemson qualifying for the college football playoff will be low.
