Last season, Scot Loeffler became only the third head coach in Bowling Green Falcons football history to guide the team to consecutive bowl game appearances. The sixth-year head coach also delivered the program’s most wins since 2015. Will the Bowling Green 2024 football schedule allow the Falcons to continue on an upward trajectory and challenge for a MAC title?

The route to bowl eligibility for a third consecutive season begins with the out-of-conference element of the Bowling Green 2024 football schedule. A Week 1 clash with the Fordham Rams won’t count toward that bowl bid, but road games at the Penn State Nittany Lions and Texas A&M Aggies will.
They’re tough games with an expected loss, but the Falcons have upset Power Five programs in two of the past three seasons. The Week 5 clash at home against the Old Dominion Monarchs should be a winnable game, meaning that the Falcons could enter MAC play with a 2-2 record — a better start than the previous two seasons.
The MAC element of the Bowling Green 2024 football schedule begins with a road trip to face the Akron Zips. Their four games away from Doyt L. Perry Stadium also include the Ball State Cardinals and Central Michigan Chippewas, while the Battle of I-75 will take place in Toledo this fall.

The Falcons’ home slate features winnable games against the Kent State Golden Flashes and Northern Illinois Huskies, while they’ll also face the Western Michigan Broncos in Bowling Green. For the first time since 2003, they won’t face the Ohio Bobcats, which is a bonus given the Falcons lost the last two, but ending against the Miami (OH) RedHawks is a difficult enough task.
