Boston Red Sox slugger Roman Anthony’s sister, Lia, has once again captivated attention with her attendance at a baseball game. She attained quite the popularity when Anthony made his Fenway Park debut last season, but this time she was cheering for a different team.
On Saturday, Lia and her mother, Lori, attended Team USA’s World Baseball Classic game against Great Britain at Daikin Park in Houston. Lia shared a snapshot from the stands on her Instagram story as she and Lori posed for a cheerful selfie with the baseball diamond and packed crowd visible behind them.
Lia wore a navy top paired with denim shorts and accessorized with layered gold necklaces and a small designer crossbody bag. Her sunglasses rested on top of her hair. Lori’s outfit had a patriotic touch, wearing a navy jacket over a red shirt. In the photo, Lori held a drink garnished with a lime slice while the duo smiled for the camera.
Detroit Tigers ace Tarik Skubal started the game for Team USA on the mound. On his very first pitch, Great Britain’s Nate Eaton swung for the fences. However, the rest of the visitors’ side combined for 0-24 with 17 strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Team USA’s offense was kept quiet till the fourth inning of the game. They tied the game in the fifth with Ernie Clement scoring on a wild pitch, followed by a game-leading home run by Kyle Schwarber. Gunner Henderson was the best batter for Team USA as he finished with two RBIs, while going 4-5 at the plate.
How Roman Anthony’s Sister Lia Attained Stardom?
Lia and the entire Anthony family were in the stands of Fenway Park when Roman Anthony made his debut at the ballpark. It was his second MLB game.
During the broadcast of the game, Lia was shown numerous times. She was dressed stylishly in Red Sox colors and somehow managed to draw the attention of fans.
In a matter of a few days, her Instagram following jumped from around 3,000 to over 14,000. She also received thousands of messages and fan reactions online. Lia didn’t expect that she would go viral just like that, calling the moment “surreal.”
“Wow, it’s been surreal. I went from having, I think, 3,000 and now I’m at 14,000,” she said on Greg Hill Show on June 12. “It’s crazy.”
Outside the MLB spotlight, Lia is a Florida State University graduate in Human Development and Family Sciences. She is a certified clinical medical assistant.
