The 2025 NFL Draft is upon us, and so is your need to be prepared for all of tomorrow’s stars. Dive into our spotlight on Ashton Jeanty, featuring his scouting report, strengths and weaknesses, his recent draft projection, and where all the experts predict he could land.

Ashton Jeanty’s NFL Draft Scouting Report
You’ve heard it since the start of the 2025 NFL Draft cycle: Ashton Jeanty is different. We’re here to confirm that he is. Entering the cycle, Jeanty was PFN’s highest-graded RB since Bijan Robinson. He remains on that podium. College football watchers in the know expected Barry Sanders-esque numbers from Jeanty in 2024, and he got close.
Jeanty’s legendary 2024 campaign placed him second all-time behind Sanders in single-season rushing yards with 2,601, at 7 yards per carry. Jeanty racked up 30 total touchdowns last season, including 29 scores on the ground, en route to a second-place finish in Heisman Trophy voting.
At 5’8 1/2″ and an almost 220-pound playing weight, Jeanty brings a devastating elusion fusion to the fold — using his low center of gravity, elite explosiveness and agility, sharp vision and creative instincts, and physical edge to terrorize defenders every week. And on top of all this, he’s a dynamic, well-versed receiving weapon.
2025 NFL Draft Landing Spot for Ashton Jeanty
With the sixth pick of the 2025 NFL Draft, the Las Vegas Raiders selected Jeanty. UNLV fans will remember Jeanty’s abilities as he heads back to Allegiant Stadium; only this time can they cheer him on.
Jeanty went off against UNLV including the game-winning score in 2024, and was the only player to challenge Travis Hunter for the Heisman this past season.
Ashton Jeanty’s NFL Draft Projection
In CSN’s 7-Round 2025 NFL Mock Draft from April 12, Jeanty landed in Round 1 with the 10th overall pick. James Fragoza has this to say:
Typically, taking an RB in the top 10 is frowned upon, and for good reason. Teams selecting this high usually don’t have the maulers up front to benefit from an elite back — just look at the New York Giants with Saquon Barkley. But the Bears retooled their offensive line and would do well to pair Ashton Jeanty with Caleb Williams.
And in CSN’s recent 3-Round 2025 NFL Mock Draft, Brian Burden had this to say about Jeanty’s selection to the Las Vegas Raiders in Round 1 with the sixth pick:
Even with the rebirth of the running back position the past few years, and Saquon Barkley’s season-to-remember with the Eagles, this position still feels like a rarity for a first-round slot. But that’s how good Ashton Jeanty is.
The two-time Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year and All-American rushed for over 4,700 yards in three years, including 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns while leading the Boise State Broncos to the College Football Playoff.
The Raiders bring in Jeanty in this 2025 NFL Mock Draft to fill a putrid running back room. Alexander Mattison led the team with 420 yards rushing last season. New quarterback Geno Smith will thank the team — and love Jeanty.
