Alabama Football Recruiting: Ranking the Biggest Commitments So Far on Kalen DeBoer’s Squad

Alabama Football has reason to celebrate after helping Ty Simpson become a first-round draft pick, but the work for Kalen DeBoer doesn’t end there. Even as the 2026 season nears, work is underway for the 2027 season, which will see many new names added to the fold.

These players, for better or worse, will shape the team’s future beyond the 2026 season. Here’s a look at some of the names to be the most optimistic about.

Most Important Commitments for Kalen DeBoer’s Alabama Crimson Tide

#5 – Oakley Keegan, TE, Liverpool

Tight ends have a place on every football team, but while Oakley Keegan might have committed to being a tight end, he also has the size and ability to transition to linebacker if needed.

This isn’t the NFL, where almost every player has only one choice of position. Players with a range of skills and fits have a chance early in college. Of course, Keegan, listed as a tight end, gives plenty of reason to be a force at his initial position.

#4 – Kenneth Simon II, LB, Brentwood Academy

Kenneth Simon II is a four-star recruit (247 Sports), which means he is almost as good as it gets. The 6’2″, 210-pound defensive player committed on May 11 and will be able to do some of everything, including rushing the passer and helping out the secondary.

#3 – Colt Lumpris, ATH, The Lawrenceville School

Colt Lumpris hasn’t settled into a position yet, which, as a three-star recruit, gives Kalen DeBoer options. In most cases, players with the ATH designation play either wide receiver or cornerback, but there are no limitations. Don’t expect Lumpris to be a quarterback, but anything is possible based on what his play can convince the coaches.

#2 – Trent Seaborn, QB, Thompson

Of course, more than anything, quarterback will determine the future of the program. Trent Seaborn, a four-star recruit, has been committed to Alabama since Oct. 20. As such, if Seaborn has been doing any extra homework in watching Kalen DeBoer’s team on the field, he could hit the ground running. However, he will have his hands full if he is forced to compete with the top quarterback on the list.

#1 – Elijah Haven, QB, Durham School

Elijah Haven is the team’s only five-star recruit, but if the team only gets one, it should be a quarterback like Haven. The quarterback has seen plenty of hype and committed at the end of April. Haven, from Baton Rouge, will be well within his element geographically in the southeast of the United States. At 6’5″, 215 pounds, Haven is widely viewed as one of the top prospects in the country and Kalen DeBoer has him all to himself.
