Trinidad Chambliss is entering the 2026 college football season with the eyes of the college world on him, and it appears he has the backing of some of the biggest voices in football too. After Stephen A. Smith praised him, 14-year NFL veteran, Chase Daniel, has also complimented the Ole Miss quarterback.
Speaking on the Pat McAfee Show, Daniel made it clear that Chambliss was the ‘best and most talented returning quarterback in the SEC’.
“I think Trinidad Chambliss is the best and most talented returning quarterback in the SEC,” Daniel said.
“Look I love what Arch (Manning) did in the last six games of the year, but when you look specifically at Trinidad Chambliss’ playoff run, six touchdowns, no interceptions in those three games and threw for over 300 yards, that really put him on the map and…this dude absolutely can play on Sundays (in the NFL).
Chase Daniel Confident in Ole Miss’ Chances Despite Losing Lane Kiffin
It was always going to be difficult for the Ole Miss Rebels to replicate the form under Lane Kiffin after his departure to LSU, but despite losing much of their top coaching staff, Chase Daniel feels the Rebels have a genuine chance to do well this season owing to the talent they still possess.
“I know they lost their entire offensive staff, but Pete Golding I think he’s under the most pressure this year in the SEC because he has to replace Lane Kiffin…and because they lost four of their five top pass catchers, but they have the best running back…Kewan Lacy, I think the Ole Miss Rebels are going to do some special stuff this year,” Daniel concluded.
Ole Miss kick off their 2026-27 college football season with a big game against the Louisville Cardinals on 6 September in Nashville with Trinidad Chambliss expected to play a major role for the Rebels.
