Landing Spots for Graham Nicholson

What can’t Nicholson do? The soon-to-be former RedHawk connected on 27 of 28 field goals (including 10 of 11 from 40+ yards), made 36 of 38 extra points, and led the MAC with a 67.9-yard average on kickoffs last season. The result? First-team All-MAC and All-American honors and the 2023 Lou Groza Award, given to the best kicker in the nation.

Miami (OH) was Nicholson’s only scholarship offer as a high school recruit, and he repaid their belief with interest over the last three seasons. But now, it’s time to bet on himself.

Ohio State Buckeyes

While Jayden Fielding played well as a redshirt freshman, Nicholson would relegate him to kickoff duties. The Buckeyes are going to put up points in 2024, and adding the All-World kicker from their own backyard would only increase their output.

Alabama Crimson Tide

Will Reichard tormented the SEC for years, and Nicholson is ready to continue the reign of terror. With the Crimson Tide’s talent on offense, he would be plenty busy in 2024.

Arkansas Razorbacks

Reichard was the best kicker in the conference last season, but Cam Little wasn’t too far behind. With Little on to the NFL, Sam Pittman needs a new kicker — why not the best one on the market? KJ Jefferson (UCF) and Raheim Sanders (South Carolina) left the backfield, meaning the Razorbacks could use some consistency from the field goal unit.

Michigan Wolverines

As James Turner attempts a shot at the NFL, the Wolverines are left with a whole lot of inexperience. Nicholson is the remedy, and his arrival also means stealing a top player at a position of need from rival Ohio State.

USC Trojans

Denis Lynch is back after pushing through 65 of 66 extra points, but he was shaky on field goals, making only 10 of 15.

With Caleb Williams gone, Lincoln Riley’s offense is going to stall more often, resulting in more field goals — long ones, at that. Nicholson is the man for the job.
