It’s not every day that one of the best kickers in college football hits the transfer portal. Arkansas State’s Dominic Zvada is on the market after hitting 34 of 40 field goals in his true freshman and sophomore seasons. Which teams could use boot in 2024?
Landing Spots for Dominic Zvada
Not only has Zvada made 85% of his career field goals, but he missed just one extra point on 72 attempts. Adding to his allure, he made 14 of 17 of his 40+ field goals, highlighting his leg strength.
Alabama Crimson Tide
Will Reichard’s reign of terror in the SEC has come to an end, only for Zvada’s to begin? The Crimson Tide should do everything in their power to make it happen. Zvada reportedly received interest from several Pac-12 schools as a recruit out of Arizona.
Head coach Kalen DeBoer was in his first year with the Huskies at the time, so it’s possible he targets Zvada a second time.
Arkansas Razorbacks
Cam Little trailed only Reichard in the SEC last season, but he’s now off to the NFL. Sam Pittman and Co. should replace him with the kicker from their own backyard. With KJ Jefferson (UCF) and Raheim Sanders (South Carolina) leaving for different programs, the Razorbacks will need consistency from their field goal unit.
Stanford Cardinal
Zvada can take the baton from Joshua Karty, who made 23 of 27 kicks last season, with three of his misses coming from 50+ yards (4 of 7). The Cardinal haven’t won more than four games since 2018, so Zvada would have to be OK with making kicks in a losing effort.
Arizona State Sun Devils
If Zvada wants to play closer to home, there are only two FBS options: Arizona and Arizona State. Tyler Loop is a star for the Wildcats, leaving the Sun Devils as the only option with Dario Longhetto gone. Now, playing in his home state is really the only draw for Zvada, as Arizona State is undergoing a massive rebuild under Kenny Dillingham.
Oregon State Beavers
The Beavers have a question mark at kicker with Atticus Sappington off to Oregon, but Zvada can be the answer.

With head coach Jonathan Smith taking the lead role at Michigan State and several staff members and players following suit, Oregon State will look different next year. Yet, Trent Bray, who’s been with the team since 2018, will maintain some continuity for one of two teams (Washington State) left in the Pac-12.
