LeBron James Wants Caitlin Clark to Follow His Ruthless Discipline Blueprint After WNBA Star’s Cookie Confession

LeBron James is pushing Caitlin Clark to follow in his footsteps, adopting a ruthless approach to discipline for a long career. The advice comes after the four-time NBA champion shared a recent sacrifice he made for his 23rd NBA season.

Speaking on his and Steve Nash’s “Mind the Game” podcast, James revealed how he had cut out his intake of cookies and wine.

“I wasn’t playing, I missed the first 14 games of the season,” James said. “I wasn’t playing in November, missed all of training camp and everything, so I was like, ‘Alright, I got to take something out. I have to sacrifice something.'”

Caitlin Clark reacted to James’ dedication on Instagram, expressing how she would rather retire than do what he does.

“I’d rather retire than do this. This is why he’s him,” Clark wrote.

James took note of Clark’s comments and expressed his belief that she, too, would be willing to make sacrifices if it were for the betterment of her career.

“When it started, I don’t know. But it’s been there for quite a while and she’s (Clark) disciplined as well,” James said. “I guarantee that if she had to give up something to get her back on the floor, she’ll do it as well. But yeah, it is just part of my, it’s part of my make-up, to know that I can knock out things and lock in on.”

LeBron James showed support for Caitlin Clark after her major injury update last season

Caitlin Clark suffered a series of quad and groin injuries last season, limiting her to 13 games for the Indiana Fever. In September, she announced that she would miss the remainder of the season.

Many, including LeBron James, reached out to Clark following the announcement, extending their support to the 2024 Rookie of the Year.

“Minor setback for a MAJOR COMEBACK!! Rest up, get healthy and be YOU!” James wrote.

This interaction is only one such instance of LeBron James extending his support to Clark. The four-time NBA champion holds the Fever star in high regard and regularly expresses that on social media. Clark also speaks highly of James, even referring to him as the GOAT.
