The 2026 WNBA draft has led to several fan speculations on social media, and now an update about highly touted prospect Audi Crooks has shocked everyone. Reportedly, her name was added to the transfer portal recently, which has sent shockwaves through the WNBA world.
Playing for the Iowa State Cyclones, Crooks has averaged 25.8 points and 7.7 rebounds, but also committed 2.5 turnovers every game in the 2025-26 NCAA season, in which her team suffered a first-round defeat. She also became part of the All-American list for the second consecutive time.
Alexa Philippou of ESPN shared the update on X and wrote:
“BREAKING: Iowa State star Audi Crooks is entering the transfer portal.
The nation’s No. 2 scorer, and one of the most prominent faces in the sport, is on the market. The biggest name in the portal to date.”
Crooks was already speculated to be a top prospect in the WNBA draft. Now that she has decided to be one more year in college, she would surely be a top-5 pick in the 2027 draft. Even though Crooks herself has not confirmed her decision, it seems she would probably miss the 2026 WNBA draft.
Audi Crooks will be top prospect for 2027 WNBA draft
Audi Crooks made a lot of noise with her efficiency (64.9%) this season and is one of the most skillful paint scorers in the country. She led her Iowa squad with 37 points and five rebounds in 31 minutes in their last game of the season against Syracuse.
The 6-foot-3 center out of Algona, Iowa, has impressed several scouters and teams across the league, but several fans believed that she has the tendency to perform against weak teams. She would have been a great addition to the frontcourt of any team in the WNBA. However, now, she would work on her game for another season before becoming a pro.
