The Dallas Wings finished the 2025 season with the worst record in the league, finishing 10-34. Their last-place finish saw the team get its second consecutive No. 1 draft pick, which they used to pick UConn Huskies guard Azzi Fudd.
Fudd played with and is the girlfriend of the Wings’ No. 1 pick from 2025, Paige Bueckers. Between Fudd’s arrival and Arike Ogunbowale’s return on a two-year deal, the Wings have added depth in their backcourt.
Let’s take a look at the Dallas Wings’ depth chart for the 2026 season:
| Point Guard | Paige Bueckers | Azzi Fudd | Grace Berger |
| Shooting Guard | Arike Ogunbowale | Aziaha James | JJ Quinerly |
| Small Forward | Alanna Smith | Amy Okonkwo | |
| Power Forward | Maddy Siegrist | Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu | |
| Center | Jessica Shepard | Li Yueru | Awak Kuier |
Azzi Fudd leaves UConn as one of the most prolific 3-point shooters in women’s college basketball. Over five campaigns with the Huskies, she played 115 games, averaging 14.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game, shooting 46.9%, including 42.2% from 3-point range.
Bueckers won Rookie of the Year in 2025, averaging 19.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game. Lastly, Arike Ogunbowale recorded 15.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game.
Between the three guards, the Wings could put forward one of the more productive offensive backcourts in the league.
Azzi Fudd expresses excitement over reuniting with Paige Bueckers with the Dallas Wings
After being drafted with the No. 1 pick, Azzi Fudd spoke to reporters and expressed that she could have a certain level of comfort with the Dallas Wings due to Paige Bueckers’ presence. She said:
“I’m excited to play again with Paige,” she added. “I mean, she’s an incredible person, an incredible player. It’s going to be a lot of fun. … Paige is an incredible player, everybody knows that. She is someone who makes playing basketball easy. I think the prior experience and knowing how to play with her and play off of her will only help going into this.”
Fudd and Bueckers were key contributors for the UConn Huskies team that won the NCAA Championship in 2025. The pair will undoubtedly be counted on to help the Wings make a postseason push.
