WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark was spotted attending Wednesday’s game between No. 4 Pike and No. 7 Mt. Vernon. Both teams put on quite a display from long range with one of the game’s best 3-point shooters in attendance.
X account @JHerrickOnAir shared pictures from the game, highlighting how he noticed the Indiana Fever star in attendance with her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery.
Fans in the comments section speculated that Clark’s boyfriend, who is an assistant basketball coach at Butler University, was scouting for the Bulldogs.
McCaffery played for the Iowa Hawkeyes from 2017 to 2023. He played 166 games, averaging 4.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists, shooting 35.6% for his collegiate career.
Clark played for the Hawkeyes from 2020 until 2024, averaging 28.4 ppg, 7.1 rpg and 8.2 apg in 139 appearances. The pair met during their time at the university and have been together ever since.
Clark has gone on to play for the Indiana Fever, growing into one of the biggest stars to come through women’s basketball. Meanwhile, McCaffery served as an assistant coach for the Indiana Pacers during the 2023-24 season before joining Butler University.

McCaffery shared a picture of himself and Clark on social media and penned a heartfelt message in the caption to mark Clark’s special day.
“Happy 24th CC 🖤 celebrating you is a privilege, and I’m so grateful for the laughter and joy you bring to our everyday lives ♾️ 2026 has so much in store for you 👀 I love you 🖤,” he wrote.
Clark left a message of her own in the post’s comments section:

The pair have been together since April 2023 and went public with their relationship in August 2023. While they mostly keep their relationship private, moments like these offer fans a rare look into their dynamic.
