‘Maybe It’ll Force Her to Be an Adult’: Fans React As Caitlin Clark Faces $1,000 Fine After 6th Technical Foul of the Season

Caitlin Clark may have had a career game recently, dropping a 45-point game against Seattle on Friday, but fans have slowly been turning on her. Her constant arguing with referees over non-calls have many fans raising their eyebrows. Now, with her facing a $1,000 fine for her sixth technical foul of the season, many fans are chiming in.

Clark received that sixth tech during their 108-88 win over the New York Liberty where she once again argued with referees regarding a missed call. With a fine looming, fans weighed in.

“Giving her techs for temper tantrums is appropriate. Maybe it’ll force her to be an adult.” one fan said.

“Good as she should,” added another critic.

“She’s got more money than the entire league combined, she’ll be ok” one person pointed out.

“Good, when she gets tired enough of getting these, then she’ll stop those temper tantrums,” one commenter noted.

“Maybe Dave portnoy can pay the fine for her.” another fan joked regarding one of Clark’s most famous defenders.

Fever Head Coach Addresses Caitlin Clark’s 6th Technical Foul

After the game, Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White spoke with reporters and was asked about Caitlin Clark’s foul. She noted that she has talked to her about the situation.

“I didn’t ask for an explanation,” White said. “You know, I think there was a reaction probably after a call or no call. I don’t remember exactly at that moment. But yeah, I mean, certainly there are conversations, you know, and there have to be conversations. It’s a long season. And then, you know, certainly after you get to the 8, I don’t know what it is. What is it like every 2? Every 2 after that. So making sure that we’re strategic in using our technical fouls.”

The criticisms regarding Clark have been mounting throughout the season, mostly regarding her antics when arguing with referees. During the game against the Golden State Valkyries, she also argued with a referee regarding what she believed was a no-call.
