“I’ve Had People Follow Me”: Azzi Fudd Admits Serial Autograph Chasers Can Make Things “Weird and Uncomfortable”

Dallas Wings star Azzi Fudd has been one of the most popular women’s basketball players since she committed to the UConn Huskies. Her on-court and off-court value has grown exponentially, but she hasn’t always been comfortable in the spotlight. On Thursday, while speaking to the media, Fudd shared that she’s dealt with “weird” fans since high school.

“I was in high school, I think I just committed to UConn … I went on a last-minute trip and there were people at the gate when I got back, with like balls and stuff for me to sign,” Fudd said. “I was in high school, I was super uncomfortable, my parents weren’t there.”

Fudd added that these issues persist now that she’s in the WNBA, too. The No. 1 pick shared that she has also been followed, which she strictly opposed.

“There’s grown men waiting at our hotel for hours, sometimes it’s weird, sometimes I’ve had people follow me from one place to the next and like, that’s not okay,” Fudd said.

Azzi Fudd said she feels safe now because of the Wings’ security personnel, so she doesn’t have “an actual fear” of serial autograph chasers.

Fudd has over a million followers across multiple social media platforms, including Instagram, X, and TikTok. The Wings star bagged several major brand endorsements, including deals with Jordan Brand, Under Armour/ SC 30, Chipotle, American Eagle and TikTok. According to Fox Sports’ June 2025 report, Fudd’s NIL valuation was at $218,000.

On June 19, Fudd announced she was joining the Project B startup basketball league, which could take her earnings to over a million per year.

Azzi Fudd on track to make WNBA history

Azzi Fudd has achieved several milestones in the WNBA as a rookie. She could take it to the next level if she stays on track with her efficient scoring inside the arc. Fudd is converting 55.9% of her attempts from midrange (minimum 3.0 attempts), which could be the highest by a guard in WNBA history.

Fudd was renowned for her three-point shooting in college, but she’s proving that her game is more than just that. She’s averaging 13.3 points, 1.7 steals and 0.9 blocks per game in 23 appearances. Fudd has shot 46.1% from the field and 37.3% from three-point range on 5.1 attempts.

Fudd has directly impacted the Wings’ wins with her efficient scoring and defense. She has a team-high plus-minus of +6.0. Since moving her to the starting lineup, Dallas is 12-5. The Wings were 4-2 when she came off the bench.
