Caitlin Clark and Tiffany Hayes’ feud has dominated headlines around the WNBA over the past week. It started when the two dueled in an intense game on Friday and exchanged words after their one-on-one battle. Right before Hayes’ post-game press conference, the Valkyries guard was caught in a hot mic moment, suggesting Clark wouldn’t stay in the game if the referees called fouls against her.
Just as that moment faded, Hayes stirred more controversy by engaging with fans who supported her in her back-and-forth against Clark. One of them made a threatening comment, saying:
“Listen. I got some cousins we don’t speak about that will ride at dawn upon request. Just let me know.”
Hayes replied:
“😂 That’s real”
Tiffany Hayes has again made cryptic moves on social media. The Valkyries guard was spotted commenting on Caitlin Clark’s Fever co-star Aliyah Boston’s Instagram post, captioned “my element,” on Tuesday.
Hayes wrote:
“5/10 and you know why”

That cryptic message seemed like a shot at Caitlin Clark after their heated battle in Friday’s game, as Aliyah Boston’s pictures were from the Valkyries game.
Despite her brewing rivalry with Clark, Hayes remains close with Boston due to their history as Unrivaled teammates this year. They were on the Phantom BC together. Boston hasn’t replied to Hayes’ comment and Clark hasn’t appeared in the comments, either. However, the Fever superstar has liked the post.
Caitlin Clark and Tiffany Hayes prepare for round two this weekend
Caitlin Clark and Tiffany Hayes will have a chance to go at it again soon after last week’s battle, when the Fever and Valkyries meet at Chase Center on Thursday. The Fever claimed the bragging rights last Friday with a 90-82 win. Clark outplayed her counterpart with 22 points and nine assists, while Hayes had 19 off the bench, with two assists.
Things got chippy last time and if the referees don’t keep a tight whistle, it could get intense pretty soon, given the short turnaround since their last meeting. Clark and Hayes’ beef will also factor in.
The Fever enter this clash hoping to maintain their 100% road record. They beat the Sparks in their first and only away game on May 13. Meanwhile, the Valkyries, 2-1 at home, will hope to avoid going .500 in front of their fans.
Indiana remains the hot favorite to win, coming off a three-game winning streak. On the other hand, Golden State bounced back with a 97-70 win over the Sun on Monday after losing to Indiana.
