Chloe Kitts has won big on the basketball court, and recently, she celebrated a personal victory as well. In an Instagram post on Monday, the South Carolina Gamecocks star revealed that she got baptized, captioning her post with the words “The way, truth, the life.”
Kitts’ declaration of her faith was celebrated by netizens, including her former South Carolina teammates Aliyah Boston and Raven Johnson.
“God is great. love this!” Boston commented.
“So proud of you and the [woman] you becoming,” Johnson added.
This is a positive development for Chloe Kitts, who’s had to deal with a harrowing injury over the past several months.
Prior to the 2025-26 college season, the 6-foot-2 forward tore her ACL in her right knee. Because of this, Kitts had to undergo surgery in October and forgo the entirety of the season.
The past two years had put Kitts in prime position to become a first-round WNBA draft pick. She was part of the Gamecocks’ 2024 championship squad, putting up career highs in field goal percentage (54.4%) and three-point shooting (50.0%).
Then, in the 2024-25 campaign, Kitts bumped her averages to 10.2 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. However, her knee injury derailed her plans of going pro after finishing what would have been her senior year.
Last month, South Carolina coach Dawn Staley confirmed that Kitts would be returning to the team next season. Revitalized both physically and spiritually, Kitts will certainly be a competitor to watch out for when the Gamecocks march into battle again.
“It’s Going Really Well”: Chloe Kitts Gives Update on Recovery From ACL Injury
For what it’s worth, Chloe Kitts gave a positive update on her recovery just a few weeks ago.
In a clip posted by WACH Fox News in late April, Kitts said that she was getting more physically active and feeling very upbeat.
“It’s going really well…I’m able to do some workouts. I did a lot during our summer workouts. Can’t do everything but I’m just happy to be out there with my team.”
This progress bodes well for Kitts, who will have to take on an even bigger leadership role as one of the seniors in the Gamecocks locker room.
