On Friday, Indiana Fever center Aliyah Boston was on hand to watch her South Carolina Gamecocks take on the UConn Huskies in an intense Final Four matchup. Boston, who was named NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player during South Carolina’s 2022 title run, was hoping that her alma mater would book a trip to the national finals for the third consecutive year.

Seated next to South Carolina commit Jerzy Robinson, Aliyah Boston watched as the Gamecocks put on a defensive masterclass to overcome the Huskies and advance to the title game. A viral clip from Friday’s game shows Boston and Robinson cheering on the Gamecocks after they sealed the 62-48 win.

Aliyah Boston and Jerzy Robinson were just two of the high-profile names in attendance at Phoenix’s Mortgage Matchup Center for this Final Four game. Also watching the game live were former UConn elites like Diana Taurasi, Maya Moore, and Paige Bueckers, as well as NFL players Deebo Samuel and Shedeur Sanders.

The game wasn’t a thing of beauty from an offensive standpoint, but both teams certainly put in the effort on the defensive end. As a result, the Gamecocks made just 37.5% of their field goal attempts and the Huskies shot an even worse 31.1%.

In a game when field goals weren’t falling frequently and UConn head coach Geno Auriemma publicly called out the referees, South Carolina gained an edge with their free throws, going 18-for-22 from the charity stripe (compared to UConn’s 4-for-6).

Viral Clip Shows Aliyah Boston Sitting Next to Iconic Rapper at UConn-South Carolina Game

Interestingly, Aliyah Boston also spent time with a hip hop icon during the UConn-South Carolina game.

A viral clip posted by the WNBA shows Boston being featured on the big screen of the Mortgage Matchup Center. When the camera panned out, 80s rapper Flavor Flav was seen sitting next to Boston.

Flavor Flav isn’t just a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and co-founder of the hip hop group Public Enemy. The Long Island native is also an avid supporter of women’s sports, having made his presence felt at NBA and WNBA games in the past.
