The Indiana Fever announced its training camp roster for the 2026 WNBA season on Saturday, consisting of 16 players. The Fever have been active in free agency, bringing back Kelsey Mitchell, Sophie Cunningham and Lexie Hull on new deals.
Indiana also extended Aliyah Boston, giving her the richest contract in WNBA history, as she is set to earn $6.3 million over the next four seasons. Following these moves, the Fever doesn’t have much cap space left to operate in free agency.
They still have deficiencies to address, which will likely be filled in after observing player performances during training camp. Let’s look at three players who could make the Indiana Fever’s final roster for the 2026 season.
3 candidates to make Indiana Fever’s final roster after training camp
1) Justine Pissot
Pissot is a 6-foot-4 forward out of Vanderbilt, known for her shooting ability and unique blend of size and skill, allowing her to score at all three levels. She averaged 11.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in college, shooting 43.7%, including 42.2% from 3-point range.
Pissot’s height and versatility could solve the Fever’s lack of depth in the front court, making her a likely candidate for their final roster.
2) Kayana Traylor
Kayana Traylor played 156 games for Purdue and Virginia Tech, averaging 9.6 points, 2.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game, shooting 41.0%. She was drafted at No. 23 in 2023 and made one appearance for the Minnesota Lynx before being waived.
Traylor’s two-way impact and long-range shooting could prove beneficial to the Fever, giving her a shot at making the team’s final roster for 2026.
3) Megan McConnell
McConnell played for Duquesne in college, averaging 12.5 points, 4.5 assists and 7.5 rebounds in 144 appearances. Her solid production saw her get a shot in the WNBA with the Phoenix Mercury.
She suffered a tibial plateau fracture in her debut and was waived a few months later. After recovering, McConnell took her talents to Australia, averaging 11.2 points, 3.9 assists and 6.2 rebounds per game over the season.
Her brother, TJ McConnell, plays for the Indiana Pacers, bringing a sense of familiarity for the Fever fans. McConnell is an adept playmaker who can also create her own shot, making her a valuable pickup who could add to the guard depth or provide pinch scoring for Stephanie White’s team.
