Fans can boot up EA Sports College Football 25 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, meaning the game will not be on PC on launch day.
As has been the case recently, EA Sports College Football won’t be backward compatible with the Xbox One or PlayStation 4. This means that users with those consoles will be forced to upgrade to the latest and greatest version of their preferred systems to access the game.
While that news may be unfortunate for some, there is a silver lining. It appears EA Sports College Football 25 will have crossplay enabled in multiple modes. This means that PlayStation users will be able to play online against Xbox users and vice versa.
For the first time in the game’s history, players will have their real names and likenesses on their teams as long as they were among the over 10,000 players who signed an NIL deal with EA Sports. Additionally, the Dynasty and Road To Glory modes are making their long-awaited returns and will be joined by Ultimate Team.
But perhaps even more exciting is the fact that EA Sports College Football 25 will feature Team Builder, aka create-a-team. Users will be able to design uniforms, helmets, and fields and upload their own logos for their new program, which can be used in the offline Play Now and private Dynasty modes.
The EA Sports marketing campaign was nothing short of spectacular in the lead-up to the game itself. With celebrities taking on football players and vice versa headlining the weekend before the release, EA put forth a masterclass of digital marketing. How this pans out and if it ultimately leads to record sales is still up for debate, but one thing is for sure: This is easily the most anticipated college sports video game of all-time, and may even be in the running for most anticipated sports video game ever.
