Shedeur Sanders, Quinn Ewers, and Other Top QBs Are Still Waiting for Their Call As the 2025 NFL Draft Moves Into Day 3

The 2025 NFL Draft is still moving with full steam on Day 3, and there’s a few good choices concerning the quarterback position for teams. Sanders’ fall out of the first three rounds has been the overwhelming shock of the draft to this point.

Despite some concerns about his size and questions on handling complex offenses at the pro level, he’s been praised for his “outstanding” accuracy and touch when throwing the football.

Another potential pickup in these later rounds is the University of Texas’ Quinn Ewers. Ewers has had a bumpy career in Austin punctuated by back-to-back trips to the College Football Playoff Semifinals. The former number one quarterback prospect has shown some toughness in dealing with injuries but still throwing over 3,000 yards in his senior season.

Kyle McCord of Syracuse University is a hearty prospect, having led the FBS in passing yards his senior season with 4,779 yards thrown and setting a school record by throwing for 34 touchdowns.

He followed that up with strong showings in the Holiday Bowl, throwing 5 TD’s in that game and overcoming the knock on him as being inconsistent from early in his career at Ohio State.

Speaking of Ohio State, their quarterback Will Howard is still on the board. Praised for his size (6”4, 239 lbs) and ability to read the field, Howard played with the Buckeyes for his senior season after putting up decent numbers at Kansas State.

He would finish his career with a win over Texas in the Cotton Bowl, becoming the game’s Offensive MVP with two touchdowns on 231 yard passing and going 16-57 in rushing attempts.
