    Ben Shelton will kick off his campaign at the 2026 Miami Open on Saturday at 23:00 UTC at Grandstand, Miami, USA. The eighth-seeded Shelton at the ATP Masters 1000 event will lock horns with Alexander Shevchenko in the round of 64.

    Being one of the seeded players in the men’s singles draw, the American tennis player received a bye into the second round. Shelton and the Kazakhstani tennis player will lock horns for the first time in the main tour.

    Shelton began his 2026 season with a strong performance at the ABS Classic, reaching the quarterfinals. He repeated the same performance at the first Grand Slam of the Year. His best result in 2026 was recorded at the Dallas Open, clinching the title over Taylor Fritz with a 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 win in the final.

    The young American player will vie at the Miami Open, where he will make his fourth appearance. In his first appearance in 2023, he reached the second round before losing to Adrian Mannarino.

    Ben Shelton will square off with Alexander Shevchenko in the round of 64 at the ATP Miami event on Saturday. Shevchenko reached the second round of the tournament after defeating Matteo Arnaldi 7-6(5), 6-7(5), 6-2 in the starting round.

    Ranked at no. 84, Shevchenko recorded eight aces and committed only two double faults in the first round. He has 10-10 record in 2026, including 8-7 on hard court.

    Shevchenko will also make his fourth appearance at the Miami Open. His best run at the tournament came in 2024, reaching the second round.
