Roger Federer attended Super Bowl LX on Sunday at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. He witnessed the Seattle Seahawks lifting the Lombardi Trophy after beating the New England Patriots 29-13.
Just a day after enjoying the NFL championship clash, Federer made a surprise visit to Stanford tennis, where he had played pick-up tennis last year.
On Monday, Stanford Tennis posted an image of the 20-time Grand Slam champion with the female tennis athletes at the University.
In another series of images from Instagram, Federer posed with youth tennis star and his agent Tony Godsick’s son, Nico, and he also did an interview on the basketball court of the program.
“Home of Champions 🤝 Home of Legends,” the post was captioned.
Federer also posed with Stanford’s men’s tennis team, including players Mark Krupkin, Luke Tusher, Jagger Leach, Hudson Rivera, Kyle Kang, Nathan Barki and Alex Razeghi.
“Always great to see you @rogerfederer,” the post was captioned.
Along with these young tennis stars, Roger Federer enjoyed Stanford Cardinal’s men’s college basketball game against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at Maples Pavilion. The Cardinal defeated the Yellow Jackets 95-72. Ebuka Okorie led Stanford with 40 points, five rebounds and four assists.
Meanwhile at Super Bowl LX, Roger Federer participated in several pre-game festivities.
Roger Federer’s Reason Behind Multiple Stanford Visits
Roger Federer has visited Stanford University’s tennis facilities in recent years. He gets along with the Stanford men’s and women’s tennis teams, hitting balls on the indoor courts and taking photos with players.
His visits are often tied to his agent Tony Godsick’s family connection. Godsick’s son Nico plays for Stanford, bringing Federer to Palo Alto on more than one occasion.
Federer and Godsick first connected in 2005. The Swiss pro was looking for representation and former World No. 1 Monica Sales sent him Godsick’s way. The agent was working with IMG at that time.
Since then, Godsick has served as Federer’s agent, helping his off-court career filled with endorsements, brand deals and sponsorships. In 2013, the duo co-founded sports management and marketing firm Team8. Godsick became the CEO of the company, and Federer was a strategic partner in the venture.
