“I Look Even Better Than John McEnroe” – Carlos Alcaraz Gives Hilarious Reaction To Alternate Wimbledon History

Carlos Alcaraz recently dropped an amusing reaction when he came across a recreated photo of himself as part of the 1980 Wimbledon final on social media. The specific Wimbledon final, held 46 years ago, featured the match between John McEnroe and Bjorn Borg. In the recreated version, McEnroe was replaced by Alcaraz, with an effort to imagine how the Spaniard would look standing alongside Borg.

The image, that acted as a portal to an alternate tennis history, was posted by Tennis Majors on their Instagram. Using modern digital rendering, the image successfully transferred Carlos Alcaraz directly into the sport’s legendary era. The technology managed to blend Alcaraz into the quintessential 1980s look, where he is spotted wearing a red headband to hold back his curly mullet hair.

Reacting to the post, Alcaraz wrote:

“I look Even better than John mcenroe 😂😂😂”

In the photo, apart from the face and hair, everything else remained the same, right from a retro zip-up jacket to all the vintage accessories, including headbands, and the classic wooden rackets.

The post recreated one of the most celebrated Wimbledon finals of all time, where Bjorn Borg defeated John McEnroe in a grueling 3-hour and 53-minute battle to defend his fifth consecutive title.

Carlos Alcaraz Gearing Up For His Highly Anticipated Return

Since suffering a vicious wrist injury in April at the Barcelona Open, Alcaraz has finally started to provide positive glimpses of hope on social media that signal a return is soon in the making. In a video posted on his Instagram last week, Alcaraz can be seen mildly hitting the tennis ball with extreme care while sporting the Golden State Warriors’ shirt.

Alcaraz has also featured in several other videos, posted on his Instagram, staying connected with fans who were not able to catch the Spaniard in action for nearly three months.

It remains to be seen how soon Alcaraz will receive full medical clearance to step back into the game and possibly feature in the ATP 1000 Masters tournaments at the upcoming hard-court season.
