The updated WTA rankings have some major surprises for tennis fans. While the Australian Open champion rises to third, there are two new entrants in the top 10, namely Belinda Bencic and Elina Svitolina. It is the first time two mothers have been ranked in the top 10. The news garnered reactions from many, including WTA pro Danielle Collins.
Bencic and Svitolina are history-makers, and while they have been embracing motherhood off the court alongside their partners, their on-court performances during the Australian swing have yielded positive results. Danielle Collins was quick to share the news on he Instagram Story along with the words,
“Pretty amazing ☺️💪💪.”

Danielle Collins is Back Filming With the Tennis Channel
On Monday, Collins shared a snapshot from her latest shooting for a show on the Tennis Channel alongside Coco Gauff’s former coach, Brad Gilbert, and former WTA pro Coco Vandeweghe. The trio had previously featured in an episode of the Big T podcast, which airs on the Tennis Channel.

Collins hasn’t won any events on the WTA circuit since 2024, when she became the first player since Serena Williams in 2013 to win back-to-back titles at the Miami Open (WTA 1000) and the Charleston Open (WTA 500).
Her last semifinal appearance came at the Strasbourg Open in May 2025, and since then she has reshifted her focus towards commentating and making bold predictions in tennis.
