Coco Gauff is in line to play the Rome Masters. Rather than heading straight to Italy after the Madrid Open disappointment, the two-time Grand Slam champion opted for a sun-soaked getaway along the French Riviera.
The American tennis star is enjoying the slower pace of life in Cannes, going for cobblestone streets and beachside lunches. One clip showed her strolling through a picturesque neighborhood, filled with pastel buildings. Another captured a serene beachside table set with oysters and drinks, overlooking the Mediterranean. She captioned:
“I’m officially grown… i like oysters now.”
It was quite the food choice considering the fact that she was sick in Madrid during her win against Sorana Cirstea in three sets.

Gauff will have to do well in Rome so that she can be best prepared to defend her title in Roland Garros. A little reset like her vacation in France might do a world of good to her game.
Coco Gauff Hits Back at Racist Trolls After Madrid Open Loss
Coco Gauff was defeated by Linda Noskova in three sets in the Round of 16 at the 2026 Madrid Open. Gauff hoped for sympathy, given she was sick, but instead her social media accounts were filled with racist messages, especially from bettors who placed their money on the American tennis star and lost.
Gauff decided to hit back against those racist trolls. She posted a video on TikTok, where she called out the racist bettors by adding lyrics from a Young M.A track.
This is not the first time this season that Gauff has been trolled for unnecessary reasons. Earlier, when she lost to Elina Svitolina in the Australian Open, footage of her smashing the racket was leaked, resulting in trolling reactions all over social media. Gauff received support from fellow players as they asked broadcasters and tournament organizers to give them private space.
Earlier in April, Gauff did a photoshoot for the Miu Miu campaign to promote their luxurious handbags. The setting was a lush green field, which was actually her parents’ backyard. The outfit and the way she styled her hair became a point of subject for critics. Once again, Gauff called them out for unnecessary trolling as she said she relates to those girls, who like to keep their hair that way.
