Serena Williams’ coach, Renna Stubbs, jokingly admitted on Tuesday that she was jealous of Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz after seeing photos from paparazzi of the two tennis stars vacationing with their girlfriends.
On ‘The Rennae Stubbs Tennis Podcast,’ Stubbs had a priceless reaction to Sinner and Alcaraz enjoying themselves this summer. She said:
“Both of them out there in the old Mediterranean with the old blondes on a boat. They are living.” said Stubbs.
Thompson responded:
“I am mad at that. Shouldn’t we all be on a boat on the Mediterranean?”
Stubbs then joked:
“I mean, I was in the Mediterranean, but I wasn’t on a boat. But if anyone wants to take me on a boat. I’m here for it.”
Sinner, who defended his Wimbledon title by defeating Alexander Zverev in the final on July 12, was seen vacationing with his girlfriend, Laila Hasanovic, on a boat in Sardinia, Italy, in June. Paparazzi photographs of the pair together were published by Italian magazines like Diva and Chi.
Meanwhile, in early July, Alcaraz was also spotted on a boat along Italy’s Amalfi Coast with his rumored girlfriend, Claudia Canals. While neither has confirmed the relationship, paparazzi photos posted by the NY Post and Spanish magazines showed them sharing adorable moments.
The Spaniard has been sidelined since suffering an injury at the Barcelona Open in April and is expected to return to the court at the Cincinnati Open.

Carlos Alcaraz has been out of action since injuring his right wrist at the Barcelona Open in April, marking the longest injury layoff of his career. During his opening-round match against Otto Virtanen, he felt a sharp discomfort in his right wrist while returning a serve. Though he managed to win the match, he withdrew from the tournament the next day.
Subsequent medical tests confirmed that he was suffering from right wrist tenosynovitis, forcing him to pull out of several major tournaments, including the French Open. Announcing the withdrawals on Instagram, he shared a note that read:
“After the results of the tests carried out today, we have decided that the most prudent thing to do is to be cautious and not participate in Rome or Roland Garros as we wait to evaluate the progress so we can decide when to return to the court. This is a difficult time for me, but I am sure we will come out of it stronger ❤️”
Along with reports of him making a comeback at the Cincinnati Open, Carlos Alcaraz is also one of the names confirmed for the Laver Cup, which will take place from September 25 to 27, 2026.
