Ben Shelton’s girlfriend, Trinity Rodman, reached a career milestone with the Washington Spirit. The dynamic forward just accomplished her 100th regular-season appearance in the National Women’s Soccer League.
Shortly after the milestone, Rodman took to Instagram and celebrated the achievement with her followers. She shared a heartfelt message to show love and gratitude towards the franchise. She wrote:
“Love u dc ❤️ thank u for making these 100 amazing lets add a bunch more!!”

Rodman achieved this milestone in the 2-2 draw against Racing Louisville FC. She has made two starts so far in the NWSL 2026 season, including the season debut loss against the Portland Thorns FC.
All of Rodman’s 100 regular-season appearances have come with the Spirit as Rodman became the youngest in NWSL history to hit the century mark.
Ben Shelton’s girlfriend Trinity Rodman Struck Record Contract With Washington
Earlier in the offseason, Trinity Rodman and Washington were caught in a stalemate with respect to contract negotiations. In the end, the soccer star came out the winner as she rewrote history.
The Spirit signed a historic new contract extension through 2028, reportedly worth over $2 million annually. The contract made her the highest-earning player in the NWSL and one of the highest-paid female soccer players globally. The landmark signing not only secured Rodman’s future but also set a new precedent for future signings in women’s soccer.
“I’ve made the DMV my home and the Spirit my family, and I knew this was where I wanted to enter the next chapter of my career,” Rodman said in a statement. “I’m proud of what we’ve built since my rookie season, and I’m excited about where this club is headed.”
“We’re chasing championships and raising the standard,” she added. “I can’t wait to keep doing that with my teammates and the best fans in the NWSL. “It feels amazing, I’m very happy, I’m very blessed. I think it’s a monumental and game-changing moment right now. I can’t even describe in words what it feels like.”
Shelton also reacted to the record contract signed by his girlfriend. He took to his Instagram stories and wrote:
“Love you and so proud of you.”
The couple went Instagram official in March last year and since then their bond has made leaps with Rodman calling the American tennis star her “soulmate” in her New Year post.
